Terms & conditions

1. The service
pgsenpai connects to a PostgreSQL database you specify, reads statement statistics, execution plans and catalogue information, and produces a report. The analysis is read-only: it executes SELECT, EXPLAIN and catalogue queries only, inside read-only transactions.
2. Your responsibilities
- You confirm you are authorised to connect to every database you analyse.
- You provide credentials with the least privilege needed: read access to
pg_stat_statementsand to the schemas you want inspected. - You keep your account password confidential and tell us if you suspect misuse.
- You do not attempt to reach systems other than the database you named, interfere with the service, or use it to analyse databases you have no right to access.
3. What we do with your data
Described in the privacy policy. In short: we keep your report until you delete it, and we never store your database password.
4. Availability and limits
The service is provided as is, during a beta, without a guaranteed level of availability. Analyses are queued and may be limited in number, size and duration. We may change or withdraw features.
5. Liability
Execution plans are gathered with EXPLAIN, which does not execute the statement, or with EXPLAIN (ANALYZE) inside a transaction that is rolled back. Even so, planning consumes resources on your server. You run analyses at your own risk and are responsible for choosing quiet hours or a replica. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service.
6. Accounts
We may disable accounts that breach these terms. You may stop using the service at any time and ask for your data to be deleted.
7. Changes
We may update these terms; the date above will change. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
